Flock Competition Results 2011:
The 2011 competition was judged by Mr Arfon Williams of Pentre Flock, Bala. He covered a great distance over a period of three days, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the hospitality.
In the large flock, it came as no great surprise that Mr Huw Evans, Alltgoch, was awarded 1st prize as his outstanding flock continues to set the standard for the Llanwenog breed. In the small flock, the honours went to Mr and Mrs Gareth Evans of the Parcyrhos flock, who have enjoyed great success at the shows over the summer.
Full results are as follows:-
Large Flock (Maximum 250)
1st Alltgoch (239 points)
2nd Gwynfaen (222 points)

2010 Flock Competition
The 2010 competition was judged by Huw Jenkins (Gwynfaen flock) who travelled 850 miles over a period of 3 consecutive days to visit flocks in England and Wales. A warm welcome was received at every location, as well as several hearty meals. All in all, the standard of the flocks was high, taking into consideration various points such as wool, conformation, type, uniformity and management. The maximum number of points available was 250.
In the Large Flock, the results were as follows:-
1st Alltgoch Flock (234)
2nd Nell Flock (215)
The Small Flocks were placed as follows:-
1st Ffarm Fach (229)
2nd Parcyrhos (224)
3rd Cae Main (223) and Pentre (223)
Huw Jenkins also judged the Ewe Lambs and the competition in this category was very close and he did point out that it was very difficult to judge very large flocks against relatively small flocks and asked if this issue could be looked at for the future. This year's winner was May Clegg of Ffarm Fach coming out on top with 64/70, followed by Alltgoch with 63 points in 2nd, Parcyrhos coming in 3rd with 62 and Cae Main securing 4th place with 61 points. Congratulations to you all.
