This is a quick newsletter to remind you about important & up and coming events and notifications.
Secretary Vacancy
Please note the society has a vacancy for Secretary, please can anyone who is, or knows someone who may be interested, contact the society at the above address or Pete Ebbsworth, Cae Main Flock.
You do not need to be a member of the society to be the secretary, IT knowledge and free time is key and able to commit to specific events throughout the year.
The vacancy is technically from 1st July, so immediate, although the current secretary has agreed to continue until the end of July 2014.

To ensure all paperwork is up to date for the new secretary, if anyone is awaiting any outstanding paperwork please e-mail ASAP with the details.
Ram Registration 2014
Ram registration forms will be accepted until 7th JULY 2014 for rams to be entered into the Show & Sale. Correct information as stated on the registration form must be provided.
The registration fee will be £20-00 per ram.
NO RAM REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE FOR THIS PURPOSE.
All ram registration forms must be received through the post with the correct registration fee. A list of new registrations will be printed on the website and a ram certificate will be issued for each ram, although this is likely to be processed by the new secretary. Please bear in mind the breed type.
Annual Show & Sale Llanybydder - Saturday August 23rd 2014
All entry forms are available on the website or contact the Secretary for a paper copy.
Friday 25th July 2014 is the closing date for entries (Friday after the Royal Welsh), please be prompt as the draw for the show and sale order is that weekend.
Annual Elections to Working Commitee
Each year four committee members retire by rotation, this year (Mr J Green, Mr E Lewis, Mrs MA Williams & Mr H Jenkins).
The society welcomes nominations for new and established members for the committee, to help the sheep breed, that we all love, thrive.
Anyone wishing to stand for election (or re-election) should request a form from the secretary to be completed with a proposer & seconder. The deadline for nomination forms is 7th September 2014. This date allows for any necessary arrangements for voting by proxy for the AGM.
Reminder for ordering tags for ram & ewe lambs 2014.
Year letter for 2013 crop of lambs will be U.
It would also be of great help if your LLANWENOG SHEEP SOCIETY FLOCK NUMBER could be included on the tags as well as your UK flock number e.g.UK12345 ‘666’ S012.
Dates for your diaries:
1st June 2014 - Lambing Competition cut off date. Please send any entries to the secretary by the end of July 2014.
1st - 7th July 2014 – Ram Registrations. If you want to sell Rams at the official Show & Sale the relevant forms and payment MUST be received within these deadlines.

1st September 2014 – Closing date for the Flock Competition.

1st September 2014 - Closing date for the Photographic Competition.
1st September 2014 – Closing date for Dates of events to be included in the 2015 Calendar.
19th September 2014 – Closing date for the Flock Returns and Show Success results.
Please ensure your membership fees of £20 are paid on or before 1st October 2014.
Saturday 8th November 2014. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND DINNER. Once again the AGM will again be held at the Grannell Hotel in Llanwnnen, menus etc to follow. The Flock Visit this year is with kind permission of the Cockburn Family at Treberfedd Farm, finer details to follow although the visit will be over 2 sites, one in Ciliau Aeron and one in Dihewyd (between Lampeter & Aberaeron).
PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2014
Please can everyone dig deep this year and have a good look for some great photos for the competition and this year’s calendar. It is always a popular end of season product and it is lovely to see photos of our flocks from all over the UK – in all weathers and all situations, including humorous ones. Please e-mail to the secretary by September (but ASAP is better).
