The Society, membership costs £20-00 per annum payable on 1st October,
There is a single (once only) fee of £30-00 to register a breeding flock (minimum 5 females), which must be headed by a registered Llanwenog ram. One does not need to own the ram - it can be
borrowed or leased.
BREEDING RAMS Rams are registered under the flock prefix of their breeder and an ear tag in the ram's right ear. The ear tag consists of a letter and a number The letter
indicates the year of birth and is in accordance with that recommended by the NSA and comply with government regulations.
PLEASE NOTE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that when members are registering a ram which was NOT bred by them, they should make this clear at the time of registration so the ram is registered under
the correct flock prefix.
Rams to be used for breeding are inspected ( must weigh 70 kgs or over) or ram lambs (35kg or over) For details contact the Secretary or see the Newsletter
There is an inspection fee of £10 and a registration fee of £10 Before registration all rams have to be tested for susceptibility to scrapie Details of the inspections and
scrapie testing are circulated to members at the appropriate time of the year.
REGISTERING EWES Although the rams are individually registered, all ewes are registered as flocks, and the Society reserves the right to inspect the flock at any time and withdraw
registration if there is any sign of other blood in the flock. There is a voluntary ewe lamb registration scheme by which members could register the details of individual ewe lambs with the Society. For
2009 £1 per ewe lamb (Minimum of £10) before the 1st October rising to £2 till 31st December
FLEECES Society members are exempt from having to sell all their Llanwenog fleeces to the Wool Marketing Board.
MINUTES Copies of the Minutes of Committee Meetings will be provided to any members who wish to receive them. If you would like to do so, please let us know.
VOTES All members are entitled to one vote on any matter which leads to a vote being taken at the Annual General or any Extraordinary Meeting of the Society,
PLEASE NOTE that in the many cases where a membership comprises more than one person, they have only one vote between them.
